Flight Test

Overview

This set of resources is designed to simulate the flight test component of a private pilot glider practical test.

The test is comprised of a series of 7 flights.  The “Standards_and_Briefings” document contains a list of standards and procedures by which your flight performance is evaluated, and a briefing for each of the seven flights.

Unlike a real-life flight test, where conditions may not allow actual performance of one or more tasks (e.g. there are no thermals the day of your test), this simulation-based test requires the applicant to fly (almost) everything in the practical test standard.

The applicant is expected to use the honor system; flying each flight only once (just like the real world).

Procedure:

1.  Review the Standards and Procedures

2.  For each flight

a)  Review the flight briefing

b)  Fly the flight

c)  Save the flight as a Replay

for review by your simulation-based flight examiner (CFIG, mentor)

3.  Review your flight performance with your simulation-based examiner
