Landing Over an Obstacle

Overview

While most airports are designed to be free of obstacles on your approach and landing, landing off-field will almost guarantee the need to clear something (road, ditch, fence, power lines, trees, etc.).

You will need to develop this skill in simulation.  You won’t have much, if any, opportunity to develop it during your conventional glider flight training.
