Landing Off-field

Overview

The most difficult part of landing off-field (i.e. somewhere other than an airport) especially the first time, will be the decision to do so.

You will need to be comfortable and proficient at landing the glider in unfamiliar  conditions.

Simulation is the key.  Typically, your convention flight instruction will not provide you with much, if any, experience landing off the airport.
