Overview
Turns with bank angles greater than 30 degrees are referred to as steep turns.
The Private Pilot Practical Test Standard for Glider requires entry into and maintenance of a turn using 45 degrees of bank (+-5 degrees), while maintaining an appropriate airspeed (+- 10 knots), with completion of the turn to a specified heading (+- 10 degrees).
