In this installment of Condor Corner I report on using glider flight simulation and the excellent winch launch training materials available from my training site, Cross Country Soaring, to largely teach myself to fly glider winch launches; in preparation for my actual training.

In hind site, I believe this exercise in self-directed flight instruction was a precursor to my current efforts to empower and enable all glider rating candidate to take greater control of their flight training experience.
